The Matthews Memorial Hall

This hall was erected in 1900 for the purpose of a men’s club by the committee of St Peter’s Coffee Tavern.

It was later used as St Peter’s Parish Hall and takes its present name from its having been renovated in the 1960s in memory of

Mr F C A (Freddie) Matthews,

a former Mayor of Rochester and long-time member of St Peter’s Church.
